Starting Aug 1: Office 365 May Require Duo 2FA

ITS Will Enable Microsoft 365 Security Feature to Identify “High Risk” Connections

A new security feature will be rolled out to faculty, staff, and other employees on August 1, 2022. This feature will seek to identify “high risk” behaviors and apply additional security measures to prevent malicious connections.

Employees can expect to occasionally authenticate with Duo when using Microsoft 365 apps to challenge behaviors flagged as high risk. These behaviors might include signing in from an unknown location, or password attempts against multiple accounts from the same device.

High risk challenges occur infrequently, and this change should have minimal impact.
