ITS has implemented two updates to the NetID password recovery process to enhance security and facilitate self-service. Previously, users without a personal email or mobile number for password recovery had to schedule an appointment with the Technology Support Center. The new updates aim to streamline this process.
- The first update prompts users to add recovery information during Single Sign On (personal email or mobile number) if they haven’t already. After 30 days, adding this information becomes mandatory for signing in.
- The second update replaces the manual, technician-assisted password reset process with a new self-service verification process provided by Trusona. Users without recovery options can now use their phone and a secure link to scan a driver’s license or passport for verification, allowing them to reset their password without a technician.
